Managing Employee Allowance Types and Deductions in FOX HR
FoxHR
Employers offer various additional benefits in monetary terms to their employees over and above the basic salary, known as allowances. Allowances are positive and negative in nature; and positive Allowances are called Earnings, and negative allowances are called Deductions.
Allowance Types in FOX HR
Employees can access Allowance types via:
Fox HR →Customer Configuration →HR Policies→ Payroll Management → Allowance Types
In the dropdown menu of Payroll management, the third option shall be ‘Allowance Types.’ When the user clicks on the ‘Allowance Types’ option, the system will navigate to a new page. The page shall be the Allowance Types view and configuration page.
Under Allowance Types, there shall be two fieldsets, namely ‘Earnings’ and ‘Deductions.’ The earning allowances shall be grouped under the ‘Earnings’ field set, and deduction allowances shall be grouped under the ‘Deductions’ field set. Both Earning and Deduction allowances shall be displayed in a card format with the details on the card. The details of the Earning allowance Cards shall be described first.
The user will be able to view the details by clicking the view button. Additional options will be shown for ‘Edit,’ ‘Delete,’ and ‘View’ when clicking the right-most panel.
The user can create a new Earning Types by clicking the ‘+’ button. When creating a new Earning Type or editing an existing Earning Type, the system shall navigate to the new Earning Types edit/view page.
The Earning Type shall have options:
- Earning Details – The details of the earning type shall be defined here.
- Applicable to Organization or Group of Organization hierarchies shall be defined for the earning type here.
- Save (or) Cancel the changes made to the details by clicking the ‘Save’ / ‘Cancel’ button.
Deduction Types
The user can create a new Deduction Type by clicking the ‘+’ button. When creating a new Deduction Type or editing an existing Deduction Type, the system shall navigate to the new Deduction Types edit/view page.
The Deduction Type shall have options:
- Deduction Details – The details of the Deduction type shall be defined here.
- Applicable to Organization or Group of Organization hierarchies shall be defined for the Deduction type.
- Save (or) Cancel the changes made to the details by clicking the ‘Save’ / ‘Cancel’ button.
To sum up
In FOX HR, details of employees’ earnings and deductions can be tracked accurately. The employers can give both allowance and deductions to the employees based on different criteria.
